Annoying habits can be a deal breaker and make you want to avoid people. Or perhaps you are guilty of an annoying habit, too, that makes people want to avoid you.

Check out these top 10 annoying habits that irritate people.

1) Eating with your mouth open

Yes, that food looks delicious, but do you really have to show the whole world what it looks like when it is all mashed up?
And no one wants small bits of food on their face.
Chewing with your mouth open is the most annoying habit ever! It's noisy, disgusting, and messy.
Fortunately, we can also close our mouths and chew. Imagine that.

2) Biting your nails

We have nails for a reason, and it's definitely not supposed to be used for a quick snack.
Nails are supposed to be for grasping things and scratching an itch.
It was definitely not supposed to be used for chewing on them because you're bored.

Yuck!

4) Constantly looking at the phone

We get it. Everyone is busy, and everyone has tins of online friends and tons of celebrities we follow and need to know what they did today.
But can it not be when you are attending an important event or someone is telling you an important story?
Unless it is an emergency, perhaps refrain from checking your phone every two minutes, especially when you are with someone.

5) Humming at odd times

Listening to new music can be relaxing, and sometimes a song can get stuck in the head, prompting a person to hum it.
It's not wrong to hum a song, but what is wrong is humming it at an inappropriate moment.
It's annoying when people hum songs in a serious moment or when someone is doing an important job that requires the utmost concentration.
Humming can be annoying to those who are either unwell, or doing important work, or simply having a bad day and are literally in tears.
Perhaps humming that song you currently love can wait?

6) Playing loud music

Yes, music is entertaining. But not everyone may love that song, and not everyone wants to listen to it at full volume.
While music is an integral part of every celebration, it can be annoying to someone who just got off a late night shift or who isn't feeling well.
Plus, not everyone wants to hear that song that you think is cool because it has a loud beat and offensive lyrics.

7) Spitting on roads

Another gross habit is spitting on the roads. Sometimes it's phlegm, and most times, it's chewing gum. There are public restrooms and garbage bins dotted all around the city that can be used. Or maybe use a tissue and then deposit it in a garbage bin when you see it.
Spitting on the road has to the most irritating habit because who wants someone else's spittle on your shoes?

8) People asking about your relationship status

Yes, we get it. You're happily married or in a loving relationship. Maybe someone just isn't interested in relationships. Is that really that odd? Or maybe they just got out of a bad relationship and don't want to talk about it.
Some of the most annoying things that usually relatives are guilty of is asking someone if they are in a relationship or when they are getting married.
It will happen when it happens. Or maybe you don't want it to happen.
It's your choice and no one else's business.

9) Being messy

How difficult is it to clean up after yourself? If you drop something and clean it up immediately, it's less work to do when more chores pile up.
And do the dishes really have to form a tower in the sink?
One of the things most people have made a habit of is keeping things messy and making excuses for not keeping their house or workspace clean. We just don't have the time to do it.
Can this person really not take out five minutes to clear up the mess they made?

10) Constantly interrupting

Some people believe they have the most profound and important things to say. More important than whatever the other person is already talking about.
Or maybe they think the other person is so boring that they need to spice up the conversation with their "interesting" stories.
How about you let the other person speak? Maybe they have something interesting and intelligent to share.
And even if it isn't interesting to someone, it is rude to interrupt people when they are talking.

Everyone has a story to tell, and there is something you can learn from everyone.
