Most action movies are based on the hero going after the villain for revenge. Be it for their lover, family, or even a dog.

1) THE GLORY: The Korean drama was a hit when it was released on Netflix. In many countries, it topped the charts for being the most popular show.
The Glory has good acting and an intricate story-telling.
While the flashbacks can be a tad confusing, this revenge drama has been executed well.
The story is about a woman called Moon Dong-eun who was bullied as a kid. Years later, hell-bent in revenge, she takes down the bullies by making them turn against each other.
You will definitely enjoy this thriller right up to the last episode.
2) REVENGE was an interesting drama when it came out in 2011. It ran for four seasons and, fortunately, ends on a happy note for the protagonist.
The show began on a fiery note, but the later seasons stretched, and Emily's revenge seemed to no longer be the crux of the story.
It does redeem itself in the end, and the show finally comes full circle.
The story is about a woman called Emily who moves to the Hamptons to take down the people who wronged her father.
There are many twists and turns to the show and some unfortunate character deaths, but in the end, Emily sails off into the sunset to her happily ever after.
3) THE BOYS is that one action-drama that deserves a watch. It is story-telling at its finest, and the dark humour will leave you breathless.
The story is about a man who groups with other vigilantes who were wronged by superheroes.
This popular show is still running, and there is never a dull moment in the story.

4) JOHN WICK: Movies can be pretty protective of animals, and they are usually shown as beloved pets.
Of course, they need to be protected because they don't really have a voice of their own, and someone needs to stand up and support them.
In any case, no one should hurt animals intentionally.
John Wick is a prime example of what happens when someone picks on your favourite animal.
In order to cope with his wife's illness, she gives him a dog.
But John has a past, and when they come for him, they attack and kill his dog.
Hellbent on revenge, John Wick goes after the criminals and takes them down.
The movie ends with him adopting a dog.
The movie was so successful that it spawned three sequels and a spin-off.
5) THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO was a novel that was published somewhere between 1844-1846.
The novel was an inspiration to many other authors and was adapted for TV and movies over the years.
The story is about a young man, Dantes, who is set to marry his fiancee, Mercedes.
However, he is arrested for treason and thrown into prison. He then learns that his friend has a hand in his plight because he is secretly in love with Mercedes.
In prison, Dantes meets a fellow prisoner who tells him about hidden treasure. After Dantes escapes, he finds the treasure and uses it to avenge himself.
6) MOBY DICK: Forget sharks. Whales can be just as scary.
One of the oldest tales of revenge is Moby Dick, a novel about a Captain Ahab who goes to great lengths to find and kill a white whale that crippled him.
However, in this case, his thirst for revenge consumes everything around him.
7) KILL BILL: Directed by Quentin Tarantino, this movie was an instant success. Starring Uma Thurman in the lead, this movie was about an assassin whose ex boss leaves her for dead. She goes into a coma, and when she wakes up, she swears revenge.
The movie also had a sequel.
8) BECKY: Don't mess with a teenager. Becky shows just how you can not underestimate a teenage girl's rebellious nature. She may be moody, but she can also be great at plotting revenge.
After a couple of convicts enter her home, it is up to Becky to try and save her family.

9) JENNIFER'S BODY: The movie may not have done exceptionally well at the box office and received mixed reviews, but it has since become a cult classic.
The movie is about a girl called Jennifer who is mistreated by members of a rock band. Worse, they sacrifice her in a ritual, which goes wrong and turns her into a demon.
Jennifer begins to feed on her classmates, and her friend Needy manages to get rid of her in the end. But Needy then goes after the rock band because of whom her friend Jennifer had turned evil.
10) THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT: Revenge is sweeter when you get it on the people who harmed someone you loved.
In this revenge tale, a girl is attacked by a group of criminals and left for dead. She manages to escape, although the criminals don't know it yet.
During a storm, the criminals need shelter and find the very house that belongs to their victim.
When the parents find out what happened to their daughter and their guests are responsible for it, they inflict the worst pain on them.
A movie that can be watched if you have a strong stomach.
