TOP 10 Ways We Use to Procrastinate

You have an important assignment due, or pending work that needs to be submitted soon.

But it's not today right? Or even tomorrow. So why not take a break? You know you're going to finish that project in a couple of hours so you definitely don't need to do it right away.

Without realizing it, we have procrastinated and end up stressing ourselves to meet deadlines later.

We can keep reminding ourselves of the urgency of completing a project but whats a two minute video or a break.

In the end, some time is wasted and while it is okay to take a few minutes break, wasting time is a whole other story.

Here are the Top 10 Ways People Procrastinate

1) Watch funny videos

A funny video that lasts for two to three minutes? That's alright. It's no big deal. Surely, you can take a break to rest the mind?

But that two minute video turns into another two minute video or a six minute one because they can be addictive.

It doesn’t help that there are now shorts on YouTube which are a minute long. Before you know it, you've watched twenty of them.

2) Take a nap

After staring at the computer screen for so long, your eyes begin to feel heavy and tired. A power nap is the best invention ever, only it is hard to master.

That ten minute power nap soon turns into a half an hour nap. And sometimes we are so tired, even though you've set alarms for every five minute, you realize you are unable to wake up on time.

3) Play videogames

The best way to reduce stress is to do something fun. Videogames or even games on your phone can become addictive.

After clearing a level, do you really want to stop and not find out how far you can reach?

4) Read gossip articles

A message pops up on your phone and you find out your favorite celebrity is holidaying at the beach. That celebrity has tagged another celebrity and you wonder if something is brewing between them. So you search online and find out that yes, they have been spotted together a lot of times.

Time passes way too quickly as you become an amateur detective and try to find out what exactly is going on in the lives of your favorite celebrities.

5) Going through posts of a celebrity

It can get addicting checking out posts from a celebrity. They are sometimes paid for their posts and have to wear and use particular brands.

You find yourself wondering, should you also buy that product?

6) Call a friend

It has been a long time since you talked to your friend. You are on your break anyway so you can spend a few minutes chatting with a friend.

But there is so much to catch up on that before you know it, two hours have passed.

7) Go out for a walk but end up going elsewhere

Sick of sitting at your desk the whole day, you just want to stretch your legs but realize the weather is too perfect and you want to go to your favorite park or beach and just relax.

8) One more episode

You've been working hard and want to watch an episode from the latest show while you eat. But even after you've finished your meal, you really need to find out what happens in the next episode. It did end in a cliffhanger after all.

9) One more song

Music can be soothing and relaxing. And you do like to keep up with the latest hits. A three minute song hardly seems like a waste of time.

But it is when you lose yourself in the rhythm and decide to spend the next hour checking out a lot of songs, later you realize that you have almost run out of time to complete your project.

10) Watching other people do work

Whether it is online, or out the window, sometimes all you want to do is watch other people going about their lives.

Unfortunately, while they have completed their work, you have spent some precious time on watching other people work.
