What’s the Point of Reporting a Death the Star Debunks?

Image
It is with deep regret that I must inform you that so-and-so celebrity has passed away. Let’s look back at their life in pictures.  Except…wait a minute…did that celebrity just send out a tweet about enjoying ice cream at the beach? Has social media turned into a tool for ghosts to communicate through? Nope. It’s yet another example of reckless journalism, driven by the pressure to be first instead of being an authentic news source. It’s all about TRPs and getting enough views and likes for posts about celebrities who have just passed away. In fact, it goes back to decades when famous writer Mark Twain was reported to be dead, only for him to come out and state it himself that he was very much alive.  Many famous celebrities have been 'killed' on the news, deceiving viewers who rely on these channels for relia...

Just not into that book

Growing up, the one thing I remembered was that I loved curling on a sofa with a book when the rest of the house was asleep.   The Fifa World Cup finally comes to an end with Argentina’s grand win.  The tournament which began on 20th November was exciting, thrilling, heartbreaking for the teams that couldn’t make it, and surprising for the teams that made it despite no one believing they could.

It's the Season of Christmas Movies

' Tis the season to be jolly…and also watch a ton of Christmas movies.   Nothing better than to watch a movie to get into that holiday spirit. Of course, over time, the stories have become formulaic, and the posters cliched. See them for yourselves.   The actor is always wearing green in some form or another. If his sweater isn’t green, then his scarf certainly is.

Quick Movie Review: Christmas With You

Plot: A popstar plans an escape to a small town to meet her fan. Once there, she starts to fall for a man that helps her write a Christmas song. Christmas movies are light, heartwarming, and magical. Most times it is formulaic. It's usually the woman who has this big city job who encounters some problem that makes her want to go to a small town. Guess who she meets there? The man of her dreams. Sometimes it is her ex lover, sometimes a widower with a kid who is the first to warm up to the woman.
