The Fifa World Cup finally comes to an end with Argentina’s grand win.
The tournament which began on 20th November was exciting, thrilling, heartbreaking for the teams that couldn’t make it, and surprising for the teams that made it despite no one believing they could.
Morocco was clearly the team that took everyone by surprise. They were the first African-Arab nation to reach the semi-final.
Coming as no surprise, Lionel Messi performed well. He first scored a hattrrick during the qualifying rounds, then scored all five goals in his match against Estonia.
Argentina may have lost to Saudi Arabia, but Messi did score at least one goal even if it was a penalty.
But Argentina’s win did not rely only on Messi. The whole team not only supported their captain, and star player, but also did a tremendous job in helping with the goals. And saving them too, of course.
Messi did announce, though, that this would be his final World Cup appearance. And how amazing is it that he managed to win the World Cup for the team!
The final match was thrilling. While Argentina managed to score two goals in the first half, France quickly recovered in the second half. For a while it looked that either team could be winning that golden trophy.
The match even went to extra time and again, both teams scored. They were clearly evenly matched although it was becoming increasingly obvious that France depended on Mbappe who pretty much scored every goal in the match.
Argentina eventually played as a team, and when the penalty round rolled out, the team scored four points, thus cinching the winner’s title.
The final match was clearly an edge of your seat thriller.
The World Cup may have ended, but the memories the teams created with their spectacular skills, will live on.
