What's The Point Of A Blueprint If Life Throws Curveballs?

Have you decided what you want to be when you grow up? You’re supposed to answer this when you’re barely five. You answer that you would like to be a teacher, doctor, astronaut, or own a chocolate factory.  The adult asking this question smiles and thinks you’re so cute for coming up with such innocent aspirations.  The older you get, the more serious your answers are expected to be. Owning a chocolate factory is no longer a feasible aspiration. You didn’t find a golden ticket or hit the lottery. You are supposed to pick the right kind of education that will lead you towards a career that will make you a lot of money.  But you’re not good at any of the sciences and can no longer see your dream of becoming a doctor come to life. And an astronaut? Are you kidding me? Heights give you vertigo.  Teaching isn’t a bad profession, but you don’t think you have the patience to handle a classroom full of students like you.  So, chances are your parents will decide to take...

It's the Season of Christmas Movies

'Tis the season to be jolly…and also watch a ton of Christmas movies.

Nothing better than to watch a movie to get into that holiday spirit. Of course, over time, the stories have become formulaic, and the posters cliched. See them for yourselves.

The actor is always wearing green in some form or another. If his sweater isn’t green, then his scarf certainly is.

The actress is always in red.

The story is usually about the woman from a big city, trying to reinvent herself and so she doesn’t move to another city. Nope. She goes to a small town to be a big fish in a little pond.

And that is where she meets the guy who she initially despises but then comes to gradually know him and fall in love.

Tensions arise, misunderstandings crop up. Nothing too drastic, of course. It is the Christmas season and chances are these movies will be watched when kids are around.

But after the initial hiccup, it is all hugs and cheers, and egg nog by the fireplace.

A happy ending.

Christmas is all about cheer and being nice to everyone. Even the antagonist who gives up their villainous ways two minutes before the climax.

No matter how cliched these movies may be, every year, right around Christmas time, in fact pretty much the next day after Halloween, these movies come out in dozens.

However, it is nice to see that classic Christmas movies are still trending, and watched with nostalgia.

Movies like Home Alone and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas are still watched by the new generation and enjoyed.

The ever popular A Christmas Carol is still read, and there are still movies made on the characters, the recent one being Scrooge: A Christmas Carol.

It is movies like these that carry the magic and spirit of Christmas throughout the year.

It is easy to be pulled into the holiday and celebrations, thanks to these movies.
