They say some animals can be our best friends. Growing up, in the cartoons we watched, we sure did grow to love and be amused by the witty characters.
Here are the top 10 animals in shows and movies that were relatable
1) Simba from the Lion King
As kids, we all aspire to be someone. Most of the time we daydream about becoming famous.
But in the journey from childhood to adulthood, things can go awry, and environmental factors can play a crucial role in altering our decisions.
Simba in the Lion King couldn't wait to be king. He even sang a song about it. Then his father died and he had to leave. Along the way, he made friends that made him realize he could not escape his fate. And so off, he goes back to claim his rightful throne.
2) Brian from Family Guy
Do you know what a writer does best? A writer tells everyone they are a writer but ask them what they are currently writing or how many words they get in, and they will give you a blank stare.
Writers often face writer's block or procrastinate. Brian Griffin from Family Guy is no different.
He did get a book published. It failed. Another one was pretty much a notebook. The one thing Brian does best is act like a writer and let everyone know he is an author. Luckily, Stewie is there to keep him in check.
3) Sid from Ice Age
We all need that one friend who looks at things a little differently. One who sees the good in everything and has a childlike innocence.
Sid is his goofy self, and he loves it. He is a great friend too and manages to teach even the grumpiest animal how important it is to lighten up, have fun, and make friends.
4) Remy from Ratatouille
Who loves food? Everyone. Who likes to cook food? Perhaps not everyone.
Remy is passionate about food, and it helps that he has a heightened sense of smell. His love of food makes him take a chance and cook. The only problem is that he is a rat and can't work in a restaurant. Remy finds a way around, though, and helps a bungling novice chef keep his job by literally controlling him like a puppet and cooking.
Anyone can cook, but only the fearless can be great.
5) Bugs Bunny from Loony Toons
What's up, doc?
If while growing up you liked eating carrots, it was probably because of Bugs Bunny. He was a trickster and shrewd, but only when he was provoked.
Bugs Bunny was always popular and always funny. More importantly, he showed that it is important to stand up for yourself when you are pushed too far and that you can be your smart funny self rather than vindictive.
6) Tom from Tom and Jerry
Growing up, you probably sided with Jerry. He even laughed as he got away from Tom and managed to get him in trouble.
Now that we are all grown up, it's hard not to see from Tom's point of view and wonder if Jerry was a bully.
The poor cat was only trying to do what his owner told him to do and stay in a nice, clean house.
7) Sebastian from The Little Mermaid
Senastian may have been King Triton's advisor, but he was probably a better friend to Ariel than Flounder was. He tries to tell her about the risks of going to the surface. Once Ariel gets her legs, he is the one who watches over her and even tries to help her get that kiss, which will keep her human.
When it all fails, Sebastian alerts King Triton of Ursula's plans. After the sea witch is defeated, Sebastian is the one who advises King Triton to let Ariel live the life she truly wants.
We should all have a supportive friend like Sebastian.
8) Scooby-Doo
Scooby Doo may have loved to munch on scooby snacks, but he also always solved a mystery despite being jittery and afraid.
Scooby, along with his friends, solved several mysteries and that too of the ghostly and monstrous kind.
Of course, it would turn out to be humans disguised as monsters. Get it? The true monster is actual human vices?
Scooby Doo showed that no matter how scary the situation is, it is important to face your fear. True bravery lies in confronting the things that scare you.
9) Garfield
Who loves food, sleep all day, and complain about Mondays?
All of us and Garfield, too!
There's a little bit of Garfield in all of us. We all have a favourite food. We feel great after a cup of coffee, and no matter how tough we have to be, we want to be comforted too, even if it means we have to hug a stuffed bear.
10) Tigger from Winnie the Pooh
Energetic, friendly, and overconfident, these are all the words that describe Tigger from Winnie the Pooh.
Tigger is like one of those friends who are in a joyous world of their own. They are unaware of their surroundings and prefer to find new ways to have fun. It usually ends up with Tigger getting into mischief, but when it comes to learning lessons, he takes it quite seriously.
