The perfect body does not exist. It is made.
Someone supposedly said that. A fitness expert or a plastic surgeon.
An artist from the bygone era may have a different opinion. They looked at the general population and saw beauty in them and painted their likeness.
Today's generation is probably wondering what the people used to eat that made their bodies look voluptuous. Were they not partaking in intermittent fasting. Doing 10,000 steps. Cutting out carbs?
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. A lot of people from yesteryears said that having given up on every new generation who kept coming up with different standards of beauty.
One minute being curvy is in, the next minute they are being mocked for being fat.
And if you're a celebrity? Good luck getting all your fans to say you look beautiful in every single social media post.
If the paparazzi caught you in your own home without makeup, you're immediately called "mid".
Feeling bloated after a rough night? Your pictures are posted all over online in unflattering angles and every single netizen has an opinion about your looks. Some straight out slam the celebrity and include assumptions of their personal life. Loyal fans come in defense, but it doesn't really seem like support.
It's mostly along the lines of..."Do what if they look shabby? It's their right to look as unpleasant as they want. Leave them alone."
Apparently that counts as support.
Walking the red carpet with other celebrities, and everyone picks up their binoculars, monocles, and magnifying glasses to study how many cameras were on each celebrity.
And of course the one photo that goes viral online is taken from an angle where all the other photographers are looking the other way. But logically, that once clean photo with the perfect pose, who took that? A photographer, right? Someone who was given permission to stand on the side of the red carpet and take photos.
Older celebrities get the worst flak. They aren't allowed to age properly at all. If they resort to plastic surgery then they are ruthlessly mocked. If they show wrinkles or fat anywhere in their body, then they've let themselves go, probably binge on healthy foods and beverages, and of course lead messy private lives.
The private lives are private of course but the netizens seem to be all-knowing because of one haphazard rumor someone started and has been reposted ever since.
So...what is the point of commenting on a celebrity's weight?
They are public figures and everyone has a right to judge them.
Someone said that. That someone thought they were coming up with the best argument ever but actually making excuses about why they like to gossip.
Most celebrities, astoundingly, like to be known for the work they do than how they look at an event in a dress they have been instructed to wear for promotional reasons.
They get off days too where stress makes them bloated, and lack of sleep gives them dark circles.
Yet they must perform and then be unfairly judged because they didn't seem perfect in every picture a photographer took in bad lighting, slanted angles, and no filters.
We don't always have perfect bodies and they change because of age, and illness and intolerances.
We tolerate our flaws, yet degrade a celebrity for being human?
At least we still have human celebrities. For now.
