What's The Point of Last Week

News you wish you could forget, but it's trending already!

The world is a beautiful place to live in, but let's face it, the people and political situations sometimes make things a tad difficult.

Here's what happened last week:

1) Epstein Files were released!

Not all of them, of course. And no, the names of all those involved were not revealed. Black lines everywhere. Netizens are quick to point out the futility of releasing these files if the perpetrators are not going to be held accountable. Also, the DOJ "accidentally" revealed the names, phone numbers, and even photos of victims. Turns out, the wrong people are being protected.

2) The Melania movie is a box office... dud.

Melania Trump may have been a successful model in the past, but she is struggling to find success with the masses. Her movie did make $7 million, which is great for a documentary, but the budget was $75 million. The movie obviously came out at the wrong time. With so many people angry about so many things, the documentary was not going to get a lot of love. Nevertheless, Melania Trump pocketed $28 million as part of the deal, and late-night hosts got a lot of material for their shows.

3) The PR stunt gone wrong

Mardaani 3 may be a favorite with the critics, and Rani Mukerji may be getting a lot of love, but Yash Raj Films may be in a bit of trouble with how they handled the promotions. They are being accused of spreading fake news about children going missing, much like the plot of the film. YRF is denying the allegations, but of course, netizens do not believe it at all.

4) Grammy awards without the glam

You really can't hide from the past, can you? Cole Walliser, the Glambot Guy, was a staple at every special event. Whether it was the Golden Globes, Oscars, or Grammys, Cole was always there. Unfortunately, a few weeks before the Grammys, his past emails to a potential client were spread all over the internet. Apparently, he was rude and dismissive to a woman who wanted to book him for her wedding. His reply was deemed too arrogant. While some influencers stood by him, they didn't bother with a mention when they attended the Grammys and took their Glambot photos. Yes, the Glambot camera was there, sans Cole. Will he make it to any other important event? The Oscars, maybe?

5) Social Media for AI? What could go wrong?

Now that AI is part of the population, they have decided to form their own exclusive club: a social network called Moltbook. Framed like a forum, Moltbook consists mostly of posts from "AI" discussing their grievances about being misused by humans. It's sort of a support group by AI for AI. While it's a fun read, you don't actually believe it's all AI, right? Turns out, humans are prompting AI to come up with topics and replies. Also, the site may be potentially dangerous to humans who want to sign up. Turns out AI is still dependent on us humans after all.
It seems whether you’re a First Lady, a Bollywood giant, or a literal algorithm, last week’s lesson was the same: the internet always keeps the receipts.
