What's The Point...of Wasting Ingredients?

Food is expensive. Even if it costs one buck, you have the privilege of spending that one buck on food that someone else does not have.

I am all for experimentation, especially when it comes to creating new delectable dishes. I mean, a lot of foods that we eat today were a result of an experiment or mistakes that were made during the process.

However, when someone takes the time out to spend enough money on cookware and bakeware, then the ingredients, and makes a video of it to post online, it’s just so irksome.

Here we see a content creator dumping ingredients into a dish, then throwing it either into the oven or freezer, then removing it and piling on either cheese or heavy cream. Ta-da! Here’s your messy, undercooked but disguised dish that tastes like the worst thing you will ever eat in your life!

Seriously, what is the point of wasting so many ingredients in the first place! The worst, and I mean the absolute worst, is when people buy a perfectly good cake, crush it up, put it in a dish, then add eggs and milk, and then instant cake mix, before thrusting it into the oven.

But that’s just step one.

Step two is taking that monstrosity out of the oven, dumping candy on it, and so much whipped cream. Then the creator takes a scoop out to serve. Yes, scoop, not a knife. The cake is undercooked, so it cannot withstand the pressure of the knife.

The creator scoops out some cake stuff into their plate, adds more whipped cream, and then pretends to enjoy every mouthful of that cloying, fattening mess that cannot be given the label food.

It looks worse than the pudding on that one sitcom where a character accidentally messes up a recipe for a trifle. But as one of her friends states, the sweet part is good, the savoury part is good, you just don’t have to eat the whole thing together. And at least the trifle looked presentable.

The deconstructed cake and cookie mess is just that, a saccharine lump of torture for your stomach lining.

Will it make you puke because of the excessive amount of sugar? Or because of the undercooked eggs and batter?

You get to decide what actually made you vomit.

So what is the point of these videos? Just to show you that the creator has enough time to waste, and enough money to spend. And you, my dear viewer, were conned into thinking you were watching something informative.
