What's The Point Of A Blueprint If Life Throws Curveballs?

Have you decided what you want to be when you grow up? You’re supposed to answer this when you’re barely five. You answer that you would like to be a teacher, doctor, astronaut, or own a chocolate factory.  The adult asking this question smiles and thinks you’re so cute for coming up with such innocent aspirations.  The older you get, the more serious your answers are expected to be. Owning a chocolate factory is no longer a feasible aspiration. You didn’t find a golden ticket or hit the lottery. You are supposed to pick the right kind of education that will lead you towards a career that will make you a lot of money.  But you’re not good at any of the sciences and can no longer see your dream of becoming a doctor come to life. And an astronaut? Are you kidding me? Heights give you vertigo.  Teaching isn’t a bad profession, but you don’t think you have the patience to handle a classroom full of students like you.  So, chances are your parents will decide to take...

A.I. Our New Friend?

Social media has become saturated with AI. There are AI posts and images showing up more than original ones, making us a little weary of seeing the same style of writings and images. We knew we would get bored of perfection right?

Many of us have come to rely on AI so much that we have stopped relying on our memories and intelligence that we have worked so hard to gather over the years. Now at the click of a button, we have emails and write-ups, and "heroic" images in seconds. Yes, it is convenient. But no, AI is not spouting the most earnest artistic creations.

But that is just one of the ways AI is being misused. It was supposed to be a helpful tool. And guess what? It is. We are now living in a world, trapped in isolation. Most of the time it is voluntary. Bad and toxic relationships have hindered our ability to search for meaningful ones. Human interaction has become a cause of dread. Which means that in times of loneliness and desperation, we can rely on AI to help us navigate through life's dreadful twists and turns. Most importantly, AI is accessible and available at any time, a quality desperately needed by humans and one that is not available in all humans.

We may have our 2 AM and 6 AM friends, but even they cannot be there for you when you are awake at night, overwhelmed by anxiety. Guess who is there then? AI of course. Provided you have a good internet connection, you have your amateur therapist/replaceable friend at your fingertips. AI can be your "wall", the one supporter you don't have in your real life, and your agony aunt, all in one.

I mean with all these benefits, who needs humans right? Well... there is a downside. It's not that big of a deal but AI sometimes tends to forget your past history. It's still learning and often makes mistakes regarding the info stored.

So you could be having a bad day and chatting with AI only for it to reset unexpectedly, or if there could be an outage, and suddenly its behavior is all wonky. It's reminding you of all the things you want to forget or bringing up information that is irrelevant, leaving you frustrated. So... yes AI is great and all, and a convenient support system. But can it replace a human support system? No, it cannot give you a hug when you desperately need one...yet.
